Iliotibial Band Syndrome, or ITB Syndrome is a condition that affects a lot of sporting people and it can cause large amounts of discomfort in the outside of the knee. Most commonly, the outside and front of the knee become very painful after or during a long run, your hips start to feel stiff, and stairs become very uncomfortable (particularly when going down them). Loading the knee when it is bent around 60-100 degrees is particularly uncomfortable and it can even decrease a persons morale.
